Blogging is Better !

Blogging is better than just having to use paper and pen. When blogging you get the opportunity to share all of your thoughts and you get the option to write about different topics that are discussed in class or about things that have to do with history. I think it is an easier and more efficient way than having to use paper and pen. If I had to just use paper and pen, I wouldn't be as motivated to write about the topics that were given. Also, when we have to add a picture to our blogs to help describe or show what the topic is about it is faster than having to draw something out or even having to print and paste it on to your writings.

Number One Topic !

My favorite topic of the first quarter would have to be when we had to blog about why are stereoypes widely known by so many in society. This was the best topic to blog about to me because I got to express my opinion on a situation that I knew a lot about. I also enjoyed this topic because it is something that is going on today in society and I believe it should be changed for many reasons. It was also a easy topic for me to write about because we had also went over the topic in class.

Ellis Island

When looking at the pictures of Ellis Island I realized many things . It seemed as if many of the immigrants were happy to come to the United States but were scared of what may occur or what might happen with their lives once they got to the U.S. They may have been happy because they have reached a place that they would have more opportunities in but they would have been scared or overwhelmed because many other people were trying to come to the same area. This would of probably been a situation that they alll had mixed emotions with.

Exhaustion

The textile factory workers had to work harder than usual. After hearing the lyrics of the "Song of the Shirt" it showed that the workers had lots of things to accomplish. The workers fingers would be weary and worn from working so much in the factories. They probably did not have time to spend with family or even time to do things they enjoyed. The song also describes the horrible conditions that the factory workers had to deal with such as working in poverty, hunger and dirt. They would not get time to be on break to eat  lunch as many workers do today. They had to work in unsanitary conditons, and until their eyes were heavy and red. Overall the conditions they had to work in were probably the worst that anyone would ever have to deal with.

Rocky Racoon

In the song by The Beatles called Rocky Racoon, they do portray the wild west. The song was about a young man named Rocky who's woman had ran off with another guy. Rocky then gets into a confrontation with the other man and loses. I think the song does portray the wild west because their was many men in the wild west and they had few woman, so most likely men would get into fights about such things. Also, it talks about them fighting in a saloon which was typical in the wild west. In the west they also were allowed to do as they pleased because there was few laws. Therefore, I would agree that the song is accurate about these events occuring.
