Relativity between the war and the media

The way media portrays war has changed throughout time. A perfect comparison of this would be the wars that are occuring in Afganhistan-Iraq and how the war in Vietnam was talked about it in the past. The media during that time would make things more than what they were. They would stretch the truth and exaggerate what had actually occured. The media at that time in the war was also very biased. They either opposed or agreed with what was happening.
The difference between the present and past, is that today the media will critize on the issues rather than exaaggerate the truth or try to be biased. They look at things from a politics perspective before making any comments on the situations that are occuring now. They are also now more secretive on what occurs, so that the same mistakes are not repeated.

"Words I never said"

"How much money does it take to really make a full clip
9/11 building 7 did they really pull it
Uhh, And a bunch of other cover ups
Your childs future was the first to go with budget cuts"

words i never said- Lupee Fiasco

This song talks about all the current issues in the world including world on terror. In the quote I stated above, the song is talking about how he did not believe that the truth about what occured on 9/11 was told. He believed that there was things that the government did not want us to know, so they covered it up with other explanations that many people believed. They are similiar to the songs about the vietnam era because it talks about situations that occuring and the artist view points on the situations.

World War 2 Timeline

This is an artifact from World War 2 this was Vintage US Army World War II Calvary Horse Saddle Bag. This bag was used for some garrison duties and short range combat or reconnaissance patrol. The Holocaust +& It's Survivors

While watching the videos from The Shoah Foundation which showed all of the different holocaust survivors and how they felt about the situation was very sad and unbelievable. While watching these videos it was sad to hear some of the things the people had to go through. While speaking many of the survivors would begin to cry, just thinking about what they had been put through. In one of the videos the survivor was talking about how he felt when he saw his mom for the last time. I couldn't imagine the feeling of knowing that it would of been the last time I would of seen my mother. I would of been truly devastated. I think all of the survivors from the holocaust have lots of heart,by still being strong and being able to talk about it after going through such a traumatizing situation.

World Power

The question is if the United States should get involved with what is occuring in the other countries. The genocide that is occuring in places such as Sudan and Rwanda, where many people are dying because of hatred towards another race or for little things such as the people in that country being a minority. I dont think that these actions are correct and that they should definetly be stopped. With this arguement I could argue on both sides because on one hand if we help the other countries who are struggling because of genocide, it will stop all of the killings of innocent lives in those countries. It would also benefit us because then we would have them on our side if any war was to occur and probably get support from them in the future if we are in need. A negative effect which makes me think we should not help even though the United States is the world power and could probably stop the madness in these countries is that we may get into problems with other countries for trying to intervene. We may also begin a war that may cause chaos among different countries. If we just stay neutral and remain the way we are, we could avoid problems that may arise in the future.

My letter to the Principal !

Dear Dr.Rhineheart ,

In school classrooms teachers tend to deny the truth of what really occurred in history. I believe that teachers should be allowed to tell the truth to high school students, and let them be aware of what has happened. Also, what benefits do they get from not telling us the truth? by denying things that were supposedly considered atrocious, it is not right because students do not get the full knowledge of what happened before. Also, why should the holocaust and things in this nature be allowed to be taught and things such as the Rape of Nanking, kept a secret and denied. If in classrooms they are just going to tell us one side of the story and not the other, they should not teach at all. There are many things that schools keep away from high school students when they should just let us know. We would have better knowledge of what has occured in the world we live in today. The past is what shapes the future so why not teach us about the things that have happened , so that we could have a better future ? Just thought I should bring this to your attention because then you could inform the school board about what should be allowed to be taught and take further action to allow the truth to be told in high school students history classrooms.

Sincerly,
Shade' Feliciano

Agriculture Issues-Caused by Dust Bowl but was aided by start of mechanism which meant no more crop rotating and made it easier to plant.

Immigration Policies- Oppositions to quotas disappear due to soldiers returning home from war taking all the jobs available so immigrant workers were less needed. Immigration Act of 1924 was established where 2% limit of each ethnic group from 1890 census would be allowed to migrate to U.S. per year. Asians were banned.

Evolution the way to go !

During the Scopes Trial they had a case with a high school biology teacher by the name of John Scopes for allegedly violating the Butler's Act and teaching evolution to his class. I believe that today in schools teachers should just be able to teach evolution. They should just focus on evolution and not religion because there are to many beliefs to teach with religion and that would cause chaos. Then there would have to be a seperation and teachers would have to identify what religions the students believe in. If the schools just teach evolution they would not have to worry about all of those problems or even have to worry about controversy between students. Evolution is a tangable soultion to the problem, while religion is only speculation.

Gangster Criminals

When the groups presented their projects on the organized crimes I learned a lot about different criminals. One of the first criminals I learned about was Kate Ma Barker because this was the one that was assigned to our group. She was an older lady who organized crimes by using her sons as pawns in her crimes. We also learned about George Babyface Nelson,he commited robbery and many car thefts,,throughout his criminal spree. Machine Gun Kelly he is famously known for the kidnapping of Charles Urschel, he was known as an american criminal during the prohibition era. Pretty Boy Floyd was a bank robber in the 1930's. Bonnie and Clyde were a couple part of a well known gang of outlaws, robbers, and criminals. The crimes they commited occured during the Great Depression.
