The way media portrays war has changed throughout time. A perfect comparison of this would be the wars that are occuring in Afganhistan-Iraq and how the war in Vietnam was talked about it in the past. The media during that time would make things more than what they were. They would stretch the truth and exaggerate what had actually occured. The media at that time in the war was also very biased. They either opposed or agreed with what was happening.
The difference between the present and past, is that today the media will critize on the issues rather than exaaggerate the truth or try to be biased. They look at things from a politics perspective before making any comments on the situations that are occuring now. They are also now more secretive on what occurs, so that the same mistakes are not repeated.

He believed that there was things that the government did not want us to know, so they covered it up with other explanations that many people believed. They are similiar to the songs about the vietnam era because it talks about situations that occuring and the artist view points on the situations.
